Recital Time is Approaching..........why is performing so important and what is expected

Recital is a time to share all your musicians hard work.  Sure, it can be stressful.....even a bit scary.  But that's OK.    We want to have our musicians get out of their 'comfort zone'.  Not just in their musical lives, but in their every day lives.  Experiencing new things helps us grow!   So, here are some pointers and information regarding our upcoming recital.

Recital Guest fees are now due, and can be made to Ms. Sandie.  Guest fees cover the donation to the venue, program printing and insurance fees.

It will be held on June 14th.    There will be two recitals.  Your musician will have a solo in only one of the recitals.    On May 20th we will post the programs in the waiting room.  Please come in and read the postings to find out which program your musician is in.  As we are five teachers strong now, this is the most time effective way we can get the information to you (just like a sports roster or a musical part audition listing!).  Thank you for your participation in this new way to communicate.

If your musician is in the 1230 recital, please arrive between 1215 and 1225.  Do not arrive earlier, as there will be a church service going on.  We will be starting promptly at 1230.

If your musician is in the 230 recital, please arrive between 220 and 225.  This is to make sure that the guests and performers from the first recital have exited.  We will start promptly at 230.  This second recital will end NO LATER than 430, we are hoping much earlier.

Dinesh Haryadi, fellow parent of a musician will also be offering his photographic genius again this year.  Please watch for the link to his photos of all of our musicians.

Ensemble members (both strings/woodwinds and vocal) will all have their solos in the first recital.  They will be closing the first recital and opening the second recital.  Participants of the ensemble have permission to leave after they open the second recital.

As a courtesy to all other musicians, we ask that you refrain from leaving after your musician has performed.  We want all of our soloists to play to a 'full house'.

Dress in comfortable and fashionable attire.  No jeans/shorts/sweats.    Dress as any performer would dress for a big show!

Clap for everyone!  We all need encouragement.  Have a GREAT time!  That's what is most important!
