Give Piano the One Two Punch Summer Intensive

Great way to jump start your child's Piano Adventure.  Using Faber Piano Adventures Primer, we will get through the ENTIRE level in 3 weeks.  Fun, interactive piano study.  Your musician will comprehend note values, dynamics and note reading, musicianship and ensemble work.  Limited to 10 musicians per week.  Minimum age is starting Kindergarten in September. 
Program is $150 a single week, $250 for two weeks or $385 for three weeks. Includes music (3 book set)  and snack. Musicians should bring their lunch each day.  Music Share Event the last hour on Friday each week.  Registration and Deposit of $75 per week chosen required by March First.  Balance due the first day of intensive.  Aftercare available with a certified daycare provider past intensive time with games and crafts for an additional fee. Every year the town of Wallingford kicks of the Holiday Shopping Season the first Friday of December.  Restaurants and Business give samples or discounts, Santa and Mrs. Claus are available for photos (The Grinch and Krampus too!) Live Musicians and Chestnuts Roasting by the Christmas Tree in the center of town.  This Year we performed at the Body and Soul Day Spa M enjoyed playing her pieces by memory at her first Stroll Event Sean was bringing the joy  Danica Lead the String Ensemble           Mira had a Sax solo Eli dressed the part!

Summer Time is a Great Time to Start Piano Lessons

  Got those Summertime Blues?  Why not turn them into music?  Summer is a great time to explore an instrument.  Piano is the 'gateway' to all other instruments.  Theory comprehension comes's easiest as it is literally black and white!  At Keys & Strings we combine lesson studies with fun popular arrangements, so the student always feels accomplishment in their new music exploration.  We have posted a previous blog on our educators recommendations, but wanted to provide our families with a way to explore other options.   Best Digital Keyboards for Beginner's

Students Place in the 49th annual fiddle competition at the Irish Feis held in North Haven CT

Today was an exciting morning! Four of our students entered the music competition at the 49th annual Irish Feis held in North Haven. Competitors came from all over the state of Connecticut and areas of NY State. The music instruments featured were fiddle, tin whistle, flute and accordion as well as voice. David Caldarella, in his first ever music competition took 1st place in his category of studying less than 3 years. What's exciting is he made a last minute change this morning to play a different piece than planned. His enthusiasm paid off! Also in her first competition, Rita Sherban put alot of effort into her Reel. Look at the smile on her face! She placed first in her category of studying over three years. Bridget Ruiz entered the music feis for her second year of competition (she took 1st place in her age category last year) This year she placed 2nd, in a more advanced category, and playing two contrasting dances in the key of D Major.
